Publication Ethics

JAMSOR is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA).

All parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to the ethical principles outlined below.

Author Responsibilities

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Any use of previously published material (text, data, figures, or ideas) must be properly cited. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism without proper attribution, is unacceptable.
  • Data Accuracy and Reproducibility: Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their data. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data constitutes research misconduct. Authors should be prepared to provide raw data or materials upon request.
  • Authorship: All individuals listed as authors must have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and approve the final manuscript. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged. Ghost authorship and gift authorship are prohibited.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation. This includes funding sources, employment, consultancies, and intellectual property interests.
  • Multiple Submission: Manuscripts submitted to JAMSOR must not be under consideration elsewhere or previously published. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is considered unethical and will result in immediate rejection.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others is required. Authors should cite all sources that informed their research and list all funding agencies and grants that supported the work.
  • Errors in Published Work: If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published article, they must promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not share, discuss, or use unpublished information from a manuscript for personal advantage.
  • Objectivity and Impartiality: Reviews must be conducted objectively and without personal bias. Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based feedback to authors.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews within the stipulated timeframe. If they cannot meet the deadline, they should notify the editorial office immediately.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest that could compromise the impartiality of their review. If a conflict exists, the reviewer should decline the review.
  • Identifying Research Misconduct: Reviewers should alert the editorial team to any suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or other ethical concerns identified during review.
  • Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should provide specific, actionable feedback that helps authors improve their manuscripts, regardless of the final recommendation.

Editor Responsibilities

  • Fair and Impartial Decision-Making: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based solely on their intellectual merit, relevance, and quality, without regard to the author's race, gender, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information about a submission to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and other editorial advisors.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a personal or professional conflict of interest.
  • Handling Misconduct: Editors are responsible for investigating and responding to allegations of research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, and duplicate publication. In confirmed cases, appropriate corrective actions such as retraction or correction will be taken.
  • Transparency: Editors must ensure transparent editorial processes and be willing to explain the decision-making process to authors upon request.

Publisher Responsibilities

Connex Dotz Private Limited as the publisher of JAMSOR, is responsible for:

  • Providing the necessary infrastructure and resources to support the editorial process.
  • Ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of published content.
  • Supporting the editorial board in maintaining the highest ethical standards.
  • Protecting the integrity of the scholarly record through appropriate archiving and indexing.
  • Facilitating transparent communication between all stakeholders.
  • Handling complaints and appeals in a fair and timely manner.

Handling Research Misconduct

JAMSOR takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously. The journal follows COPE guidelines for investigating and resolving ethical concerns. Types of misconduct include, but are not limited to:

  • Plagiarism and text recycling
  • Data fabrication and falsification
  • Duplicate or redundant publication
  • Improper authorship or undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Citation manipulation
  • Peer review fraud

If misconduct is suspected or reported, the editorial board will initiate an investigation. Depending on the severity of the finding, actions may include:

  • Requesting clarification from the author(s)
  • Issuing a formal correction or expression of concern
  • Rejecting the manuscript during review
  • Retracting a published article
  • Notifying the author's institution or funding agency
  • Banning the author from submitting to JAMSOR for a specified period

Corrections and Retractions

JAMSOR is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections are issued when errors are identified that do not invalidate the overall findings of a published article. Retractions are issued when serious ethical violations or fundamental errors are discovered that undermine the validity of the research.

All corrections and retractions are published with clear links to the original article and are indexed by discovery services to ensure transparency.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors who believe their manuscript was unfairly rejected may submit an appeal to the editorial office. Appeals should provide a detailed explanation of the concerns and any supporting evidence. The editorial board will review the appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Complaints regarding editorial conduct, peer review, or publication ethics should be sent to editor@jamsor.arirdc.org. All complaints will be investigated promptly and handled in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing: JAMSOR is dedicated to promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly communication. We continuously update our ethical policies to reflect evolving best practices and international standards.
