Archiving Policy

JAMSOR is committed to the long-term digital preservation of all published content. The journal ensures that articles remain accessible, discoverable, and preserved for future generations through multiple archiving and preservation strategies.

Digital Preservation Services

JAMSOR deposits all published content with the following preservation services:

  • CLOCKSS: A distributed dark archive that ensures long-term preservation and triggers open access to content if it becomes unavailable from the publisher.
  • Portico: A trusted digital preservation service that maintains a permanent archive of scholarly literature.
  • LOCKSS: Local control and preservation of scholarly content by participating libraries.

Persistent Identifiers

All articles published in JAMSOR are assigned the following persistent identifiers to ensure long-term discoverability:

  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Registered through Crossref for each article.
  • ORCID iD: Authors are encouraged to register for a unique researcher identifier.
  • ISSN: Journal-level identification for both print and online versions.

Author Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit their published articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or personal websites. The CC BY 4.0 license permits unrestricted sharing and redistribution with proper attribution.

Repository Deposits

JAMSOR deposits metadata and full-text content with:

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
  • Google Scholar
  • OpenAIRE
  • Internet Archive
  • National library repositories

Backup Strategy

The JAMSOR website maintains regular automated backups on secure servers. Backups include all article content, metadata, and submission records. Incremental backups are performed daily, with full backups performed weekly.

Version of Record

The publisher's website (jamsor.arirdc.org) hosts the official version of record for all published articles. In case of any discrepancy between different versions, the publisher's version is considered authoritative.

Content Preservation Commitment

JAMSOR commits to:

  • Maintaining free, perpetual access to all published content.
  • Ensuring content remains accessible even if the journal discontinues publication.
  • Depositing content with at least two independent preservation services.
  • Updating metadata and DOIs if content location changes.
  • Responding to preservation-related inquiries from libraries and researchers.

Long-Term Commitment: JAMSOR's archiving policy ensures that published research remains available and discoverable for future generations, supporting the principle of open access and the advancement of scholarly knowledge.
